01 Jul 2005 - Cinema Libre Studio and Netflix Join Forces.
 Cinema Libre Studio has negotiated a deal with Netflix, the world's largest online movie rental service, to distribute Academy Award winning actor/director Tim Robbins' filmed version of his acclaimed play, "Embedded Live." The play, a fictionalized story about the Iraq war and the journalists who covered it, was written and directed by Robbins. He also stars in the play. The filmed version was shot live during an off-Broadway run in New York.

01 May 2005 - Heavy Metal Goes Live.
 Heavy Metal, the illustrated fantasy magazine, and Cinema Libre Studio have joined forces to create a direct-to-video collection of live action Heavy Metal films to address the demand from fans for more films in this genre.

 Notes Treston, "Gay culture institutions are mainstreamed. Will & Grace, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, and The Ellen DeGeneres Show read like any other hetero-show. The queers are neutered, sexless. Which is not to say these shows are bad. At least they get us out there on middle-America's TVs. But the gay community has never been complacent. These toothless shows won't be the only addition to the gay literary canon."

10 Aug 2004 - Cinema Libre Goes It Alone.
 Cinema Libre Studio, which focuses on independent documentaries, foreign and art films, is going to begin self-distributing to the home video market. The company previously distributed titles through others, including Image Entertainment and Vanguard. Cinema Libre has hired Arik Treston, formerly of York Entertainment and VPD, to spearhead the effort as VP home entertainment.
